Source: Master Spec v2.0, §§1–3. Product owner: Family Gutters. Primary market: Miami, Florida, US. MVP organization model: one private Family Gutters workspace. Application language: English only.

Sketch FG is an internal estimating application for gutter and downspout work. It replaces the current paper workflow in which an estimator draws a satellite-style top view of a property, writes measurements and product information, photographs the sheet, uploads the image to Jobber, and recreates the commercial quote there.

The application must allow authorized employees to:

  1. Create an estimate using a satellite map, uploaded image, camera photo, or blank canvas.
  2. Draw measurable product lines and place product or service symbols.
  3. Build a Scope of Work (SOW) automatically from canvas elements.
  4. Adjust configurations, quantities, footage, prices, and proposal alternatives.
  5. Continue working after losing internet access.
  6. Preview and download a clean, client-facing Final Sketch as JPG or PDF.
  7. Upload the downloaded file manually to Jobber.

Sketch FG does not generate a commercial quote number. Jobber remains the system that creates the official quote, handles approval and payment, and manages sales tax, discounts, deposits, minimum charges, and the final customer workflow.

  • Tablet first: design and QA priority is Tablet → PC → Mobile.
  • Full functionality: Canvas, SOW, Proposals, Preview, and JPG/PDF export must work on all three device classes at launch.
  • Offline first: after map capture, all estimate work must continue without internet. Blank, Image, and Camera estimates may be created fully offline when cached master data is available.
  • English only: all UI labels, help text, statuses, validation, product names, emails, notifications, and exported content are in English.
  • Editable after completion: downloading a Final Sketch never locks the estimate.
  • No duplicate quote number: only an invisible technical ID is generated; the Final Sketch displays the date but never an estimate or quote number.
  • Jobber remains external: there is no Jobber integration in the MVP.
  • One company: the MVP is built for Family Gutters, not as a multi-tenant SaaS product.

All screens use the approved refined Apple iOS/macOS visual language:

A responsive, installable web application / PWA with a local-first data layer. It must support touch, stylus, mouse, keyboard, offline storage, background synchronization, camera access, image import, and high-resolution JPG/PDF generation.

The team must validate the stack on at least: one current iPad with Apple Pencil, one current Android tablet with S Pen (or equivalent), a desktop browser, and a representative mobile phone.

The exact tablet model, minimum OS/browser versions, map provider, backend, database, auth provider, hosting, and monitoring stack are implementation decisions — they must satisfy this specification and be documented before production release. See Implementation Decisions.
